🏛️ State License Law 📍 New YorkReal estate licensing in New York is administered by the Department of State (DOS), Division of Licensing Services, under Article 12-A of the Real Property Law. A salesperson applicant must complete 77 hours of approved qualifying education, pass the state exam, and be sponsored by a licensed broker. A salesperson may never operate independently and must work under and be supervised by their sponsoring broker, who is responsible for the salesperson's real estate activities.
